As you know iPhone includes preset configurations for many of the popular providers such as Yahoo! Mail, Gmail, .Mac, and AOL, and in most cases sending mail will just work. However, if you are using a different email servcie provider you may configure the email settings with your provider provided. Then how to check if the current SMTP (outgoing server) settings being used is the same as the one provided by your email service or not?

It’s quite easy. Opne your iPhone and the go into the Email settings as follows: Settings –> Mail, Contacts, Calendars –> Accounts (select the mail account you want to set up) –> SMTP –> SMTP Server Name. Then you should see a screen similar to the image below.

If the settings are incorrect then you can change them and also save the changes.
